Two sheep, three girls and an old red farmhouse in the rain

Hi, I’m Milly. I grew up under the southern Spanish sun, and after years on our little smallholding in the hills of the south, my husband Phil and I packed up three girls, two dogs and one very opinionated chicken and drove to an old red farmhouse in the green, rainy north of Spain. This is where I share how we’re building it, season by season: growing our food, filling the pantry, cooking for a family of five and learning at home, mud and all.

I’m a mama of three, a scratch cook and the woman who once bought two sheep off the internet in four hours to save our farm license. We’re not new to this life, but we are new to this place, and I write it all down here, the lovely parts and the muddy parts.
